BEGINNER TAP SHOES – TAP YOUR WORRIES AWAY

Beginner tap shoes – they’re the product of the month. Whether you’re a seasoned tapper or an absolute amateur here’s why you should jump on the bandwagon and get tapping? Order the best tap shoes on Dance World Online today.

If you don’t know much about tap it’s an easy dance style to dismiss. On the Emerald Isle, tap doesn’t hold the prestige of ballet, nor the universality of Irish dancing. Tap is a dance style largely associated, in general, with kid’s stage schools. As such, it might surprise you to discover that tap dancing isn’t just Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in those black and white musicals any more. Tap dancing has evolved with the times and the modern face of tap dance is edgy and athletic.

Why should I start tap dance?

Are there substantial reasons, aside from hype and boredom, to start tap dancing though? It will involve buying a new pair of shoes but I promise you, it’s well worth the hype. Here are 4 perfectly marvellous reasons, right off the top of my head!

1. Fitness

Tap dancing is highly athletic. If you want to get your heart pumping, increase your step count for the day and do some exercise; try tapping. It’s hard work and very energetic. If you want to make any noise with your beginner tap shoes you’ve got to lift your feet and jump!

2. Exercise reduces stress

You heard it from the queen: “Exercise produces endorphins, endorphins make you happy. Happy people don’t kill their husbands. They just don’t.” (Elle Woods, Legally Blonde) Now try it for yourself and see if you feel less like murdering your quarantine-mates the next time they breathe too loud! Right now, we’ll take whatever makes us feel a bit better and a bit of free ‘tap therapy’ sounds pretty damn good to me!

3. It’s hella easy to access

There are loads of free tap tutorials online. Just pop onto YouTube there and have a quick search; go on, I’ll wait. There is heaps of free “how to tap for beginners” content available. Try Beginner Dance Tutorials. She’s got loads of easy tap routines as well as individual step tutorials. Even So Danca, one of our favourite dancewear brands, has some beginner tap tutorials on their YouTube channel!

4. Tap shoes make noise

Do you know that feeling when you just want to get in the car and sing at the top of your lungs? When you’ve got frustration and energy bottled up and you just need a good scream? Well here’s some more good news; tap shoes are noisy! Get out on your back step and loudly bash away your annoyance at the world, at coronavirus and at anything else that’s getting on your nerves.

Which tap shoe to choose?

We’ve got a large range of tap shoes at Dance World Online. Our selection of taps features shoes from leading brands like Bloch and So Danca. We’ve got styles to suit the beginner tap student through to a professional tapper. Our tap shoes come in various styles such as Mary Janes, Oxford style and jazz taps, in slip-on, laced and buckled designs. Whatever your style, we’ve got the perfect tap shoe for you.

So if after reading this inspirational post you’re ready to obey the call of tap dance and look for a beginner tap shoe to start your journey, look no further than the TA 05 from So Danca. It’s a sturdy, lace-up shoe with front and back taps. It’s made from a PU leather so it’s not going to break the bank but it’s got lined interiors for comfort and it’s a well-made shoe to boot! The only downside to this shoe is that the taps provide a slightly weaker sound than what you’d get from a more professional shoe.

Some other awesome options.

TA 05 comes in kid’s and adult’s sizes. Why not get a pair of beginner tap shoes for you and your kids? This is an activity you can all do together and by the end, you’ll have a great party-piece to show off!

If you’re looking for something more flexible, either the TA 52 or TA 68 is for you. We’ve got beginner tap shoes in black, white, tan and even sparkly silver glitter so pick your poison! Are you a more proficient tap dancer, looking for something more expensive with a higher-quality tap that produces a richer sound? If so I’d recommend the Bloch Oxford Style Jazz Taps or Showtappers.
